This article shares the general information on the Chicago Bulls, a professional American basketball team that is based in Chicago. This team is a member of the Eastern conference central division of the NBA league. It was found in January, 1966 and uses the United Center for playing their home matches. The team joined the NBA during the 1966-1967 season. Chicago Bulls struggled in the first years of their formation for a period of up to 25 years. Their fortunes however changed when Michael Jordan joined the team in the mid 1980s. Since then, the team went on to enjoy a string of success in the 1990s and Michael Jordan went on to become the greatest player of his time.
Michael Jordan & Scottie Pippen
Michael Jordan was joined by Scottie Pippen in 1987 to make one of the greatest combination that the NBA has ever seen. The Bulls went on to win three consecutive titles in early 1990s with the two players leading the pack. Jordan retired briefly before returning to assist the Bulls win another trio of titles from 1996 to 1998. The Chicago Bulls therefore managed to win two three-peat titles in one decade taking their overall tally to six by the year 1998. In 2008, the Bulls beat all odds to become the top pick for the 2008 NBA Draft Lottery. The main player at this time was Derrick Rose. Rose has since then led the team to the playoffs in each of the campaigns he has played. This includes the 2011 finals for the Eastern Conference. Rose also became the youngest player to win the MVP award in the NBA’s history.

Today, the Forbes magazine ranks the team as the third most valuable franchise in the NBA. Its value is estimated to be $2.3 billion with an operating income of about $67.6 million for the 2015-2016 season. Jordan and Rose have won six MVP awards among them while playing for the Chicago Bulls.
Coach Phil Jackson
Phil Jackson became the head coach of the Chicago Bulls during the 1989-1990 season. He led the team to the Eastern Conference finals in his first season with an impressive record of 55 wins to 27 defeats. The Bulls then went on to win 15 consecutive home games and an 8 game winning streak, the longest in history of the NBA by then. The all star team compiled by Jackson had Jordan and Pippen at the core. The second half of the season saw Bulls record a 27 win to 8 defeats achievement including two nine games winning streaks. In March 1990, Jordan scored an impressive 69 points in one game , the highest for his career. Pippen was a great pair to Jordan going forward due to his great ball handling skills, solid scoring as well as terrific defending.
The Chicago Bulls first owner, Richard Klein choose the nickname Bulls when it joined the NBA in 1966 as the 10th franchise in the league.
