Nonprofit provides families with transportation in Chicagoland

A local man has been helping to provide families in need with transportation of their own via his nonprofit. Romas Povilonis has served as the executive director of Cars of Hope for nearly a decade. The 501(c)3 nonprofit that is run primarily by volunteers, repairs and donates cars to deserving families in the western suburbs of Chicago. Any car donated, whether it is in running condition or not, will be accepted by the organization and they will make any repairs needed in order to make sure that the vehicle is safe, affordable and reliable for families to maintain themselves.

With winter here to stay, it is important that Chicago residents take extra care to ensure their car is protected from the elements if they will be street parking. If you do not regularly park your car in a garage or carport, then there is nothing to stop the elements from wreaking havoc on your vehicle. A good quality car cover will help protect your car from the elements year round and preserve its value. The Chicago Tribune has shared consumer reviews on the best car covers on the market.

The world is currently changing very rapidly with the state of the COVID-19 virus. The Illinois Department Of Commerce and Economic Opportunity's executive order 20-10 identifies automotive repair services an essential business for Illinois.
Chicago Autohaus is still open for business and putting our customers first. We are taking every precaution necessary to keep our facility meticulously sanitized - every vehicle is thoroughly wiped down with alcohol before leaving the shop and our staff is applying hand sanitizer before and after each appointment. Alcohol is an important component in killing this virus as it is not a living organism but a protein molecule protected by a thin layer of lipid (fat), it is not killed, but decays on its own. Alcohol or any mixture with alcohol over 65% DISSOLVES ANY FAT, especially the external lipid layer of the virus.
